Looking for shows

Herpes Ö DeLuxe and RM 74 are looking for shows between the 18. and 31. october 2010, mainly in Germany and France but also in Belgium or The Netherlands.

Herpes Ö DeLuxe is a four piece group from Bern/Switzerland in the 15th year of their existence, working in a musical field between atmospheric noise, electronica bruitiste, sombre soundscapes and harsh drones.

RM74, also from Bern, is the solo project of Reto Mäder, known for his work in Ural Umbo, Sum Of R and Ohne as well as his solo releases on labels like Utech, Domizil and Hinterzimmer Records.

Both groups are part of the Hinterzimmer Records roster besides Rhys Chatham and Ghédalia Tazartès amongst others.

Technical rider for both acts:
Good PA (i.e. 6 kilowatts and 16 or 32 band eqs) for very dynamic analogue sound
2 monitor wedges on stage (same mix for both wedges)
4 DI-Boxes
2 microphones (for guitar amps)
2 small tables
1 sound engineer

We need accomodation for 7 people (5 musicians, 1 sound engineer, 1 driver)

Herpes Ö DeLuxe - Short biographical note

Herpes Ö DeLuxe, formed 1995, is a four piece group from Bern/Switzerland working in a musical field between atmospheric noise, electronica bruitiste, harsh drones, electronic and acoustic soundscapes, playful collages and devastating rhythmic noise attacks. Their instruments are partly analogue electronic gear, partly self-built or deconstructed tools like tape loops or turntables that are (mis-)used as rhythm machines.

Besides concerts in the traditional sense, Herpes Ö DeLuxe have been involved in numerous other activities: they made the live music for the theater 'Habgier' and regularly produce the live soundtracks for the pyrotechnical interventions of the artist Pavel Schmidt (Solothurn, Munich). Those events usually take place in museums or art spaces.

Sporadically they are also teaming up with singer Beat-Man (frontman of well known Garage Rock/Punk-Band The Monsters). Under the name Reverend Beat-Man & The Church Of Herpes they are producing a more song-orientated brand of music, closer to the common pop-scheme but with a noisy edge.

Herpes Ö DeLuxe-members Roger Ziegler and Christoph Hess are, together with Reto Mäder, playing in Sum Of R, Hess is also known for his turntablism experiments as Strotter Inst.

RM74 - Short biographical note

RM74 is the solo project of Swiss musician Reto Mäder who lives in Bern. He meshes instruments like guitar, piano and kalimba with electronics in such a way as to make both sides of the fence talk to one another. It's a cryptic and wide open language between drifting electro-acoustic music, minimal instrumental figures, drones, experimental electronics and slow-growing melodies.

Apart of RM74, Reto Mäder plays in Ural Umbo (with Steven Hess of Haptic, On and Pan American) as well as in the chamber doom trio Sum Of R (with Roger Ziegler and Christoph Hess of Herpes Ö DeLuxe). He released albums on Utech, Crouton, dOc, Hinterzimmer and Domizil. Since 2006 he runs the label Hinterzimmer Records with Roger Ziegler.
